Recognized for Building a Future-Ready Healthcare Ecosystem

Dr./BGen. Antonio Laperal Tamayo, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Perpetual Help Medical Center–Las Piñas, was named Hospital CEO of the Year at the Hospital Management Asia (HMA) 2026 Awards, held on September 3, 2026, in Bangkok, Thailand.

The prestigious award was accepted on his behalf by LTC Richard Antonio M. Tamayo, President of the Medical Center, and Dr. Rachel Antonette G. Tamayo, Member of the Board of Directors.

Selected from a competitive field of 409 entries representing 153 hospitals across 18 countries, Dr./BGen. Tamayo’s recognition highlights his visionary leadership and longstanding commitment to advancing healthcare in the Philippines. It also reflects the collective dedication of the Medical Center’s physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, educators, administrators, and employees who continue to uphold its mission of quality and compassionate care.

A Milestone in 50 Years of Healthcare Excellence

The recognition carries special significance as the Medical Center celebrates its 50th Founding Anniversary in 2026.

Established in 1976 as a 50-bed community hospital, the Medical Center has grown into a 285-bed tertiary teaching and training institution. Today, it provides comprehensive healthcare supported by highly qualified physicians across a wide range of specialties and subspecialties, together with advanced diagnostic, surgical, and therapeutic facilities.

Beyond delivering patient care, the Medical Center continues to strengthen the next generation of healthcare professionals through residency, fellowship and specialty training programs, scholarships, and continuing professional development.

As an AFP-Affiliated Reserve Medical Center, the institution also extends its role beyond the hospital—supporting national emergency preparedness, disaster response, and humanitarian missions.
